The Lord is One

“Hear O Israel, the Lord, our God, the Lord is one.” This was probably the basis of all of Jesus’ teachings; the oneness of all that is. In this understanding, He realized that it was not enough to do as the Pharisees, obeying the letter of the law, but that obedience had to extend to our thoughts from which all actions rise. He knew that, when we realize the Truth of our Being – that WE are One – our obedience of the law will come naturally and joyfully.
